A message from LBPEA Visayas Director SONIA D. BROTARLO | Thu Nov 16, 2017 10:30 am by sonia |
It has been two (2) years and six (6) months that this website was closed. Many were disappointed with the closure but we have to keep up with the fast changing technology - facebook and twitter, among others.
With the remaining one month and a half of my stint as Director for Visayas, I have been ruminative as to the manner of my “consummatum est” in LBPEA. Thus here I am re-opening the website pro hac vice for my grand exit.
This is the medium where you first knew me and this is where I want to personally reach out to you to express my deepest and heartfelt “THANK YOU” for all the years that you trusted me. …

| http://www.journal.com.ph/index.php/news/national/22216-solon-seeks-increase-of-workers-allowanceSolon seeks increase of workers allowance Published : Sunday, January 22, 2012 DUE to the rising cost of living in the country, a militant lawmaker is pushing for the approval of a measure seeking to increase the monthly Personnel Economic Relief Allowance (PERA) granted to state workers. In filing House Bill 5662, ACT Teacher Rep. Antonio Tinio said that it is about time to increase the PERA from P2,000 to P4,000 in order for the government employees to cope with the rising cost of basic commodities and services. “An increase in the PERA will offer government personnel more substantial relief from the erosion of the purchasing power of public sector salaries and wages,” Tinio said. The PERA was first granted to government employees in 1991, in the amount of P500 per month. An additional compensation of P1,500 was given by virtue of Joint Resolution 4 issued by the House of Representatives and the Senate on 17 June 2009 totaling to P2,000. The PERA is granted monthly to all public sector employees, whether paid on salary, wage or base pay basis across all agencies. This benefit is considered as a supplement to their basic compensation. Under the proposed measure of Tinio, the augmentation of the PERA shall be referred as the Augmented Personnel Economic Relief Allowance (APERA). Jester P. Manalastas | |

| Thanks Jonacel for this good news! This bill on Augmented Personnel Economic Relief Allowance (APERA) is indeed good news for government workers if approved an increase from P2T to 4T. However let us hope that the issue on the controversial exclusion will not be repeated.

- We discussed with Atty. Mon Cervanted this ACA/PERA but the stand of the management is that we are not entitled. Although we informed him of the possibility of seeking clarification with DBM which LBPEA is planning to do.
May timeline ba tayo with regard the seeking of clarification of this issue with DBM Madam? This should be taken as a challenge, kung di nila kaya (MMOI), baka with the appropriate moves and intervention (through the clarification with DBM), baka maibigay. Ika nga "It is better to have tried and failed than to have not tried at all" | |

| Indeed a good news, but let the ACA/PERA issue at LBP be settled first because the proposal is in pursuance to the application of the existing benefit, meaning an amendment for increase in the amount.
