Open letter to PNoy

Good day to everyone!!

Nabasa ko kasi sa inquirer last satruday, Nov. 10 na may open letter to PNoy ang mga leaders/president ng iba't ibang union or association/organization ng various gocc's at gfi. As stated in the letter, they are demanding for the immediate implementation of our salary increase and other items.

Nagtataka lang ako bakit hindi signatory ang lbpea president natin or any officer ng lbpea dun sa open letter. Di ba tayo agree sa issues as presented in the open letter?

Just asking.

I could only speculate on the reasons regarding absence of LBPEA's representative during the preparation of the open letter. One reason is that our representative to the KAMAGFI is VP External Nanette Lati who is no longer in for a 2nd term was perhaps absent or no longer interested with LBPEA external activities. The rest of the National Officers in Manila are also busy campaigning although I dont consider this as an excuse but we cant do anything anymore since the letter is out. But it does not mean we dont agree with the issues raised because they are valid and really worth fighting for-increase in salary and other items.

Nevertheless, LANDBANK is still part of GOCCs/GFIs covered by the GCG and whatever is the positive result this open letter would attain will also benefit us. The rationalization of salaries being studied by the GCG includes all the GOCCs and GFIs and the implementation being demanded will also favor us.

TO JCLEMENTE, here is part of the open letter to Pnoy made by KAPISANAN NG MANGGGAGAWA SA GOCCs at GFIs (KAMAGGFI); Ill post the last part were the demands are stated. But if you want the total copy of the open letter, i can fax a copy to your end. Just give me your fax number.

The demands are;

"1) that the grant of existing benefits to GOCC & GFI employees included in their agencies approved corporate Operating Budget (COB) be continued and respected including the release of withheld benefits as long as no adjustments in our compensation are granted and until the GCGhas not adopted a new Compensation and Position Classification system that guarantees compensation comparable with those of the private sector;

2) that the corporate integrity of the GOCCs & GFIs as provided by their respective charters must be respected by the GCG;

3) that the Implementing Rules & Regulations of RA 10149 must first be promulgated. The GCG has so far disregarded this elementary legislative rule; and,

4) that the governanace of GOCCs is carried out in a transparent, responsible and accountable manner and with the utmost degree of professionalism and effectiveness. A transparent and responsible governance requires that representatives from our sector must be regularly consulted by GCG."
